FRIDAY SEPT. 3: No Ride plans, however a dinner option may be planned if enough people express interest.
SATURDAY SEPT. 4:
The famous Mt. Fromme, with trails featured in Universe 1 and 2. Experts will likely take the Upper Oilcan trail, followed by Pipeline. Mt. Fromme is a fantastic place to ride, and if you want to adventure on your own there are over 30 trails to try, check the trail map here.
SUNDAY SEPT. 5:
In Vancouver we don't do uphill (OK some
of us do but not today!). On Sunday we shall shuttle up to the top of
Mt. Seymour and likely ride the CBC trail to Salvation down to Pengu/Pengor,
then down to the Old Buck parking lot. Also, please check the Full Schedule Here. MONDAY SEPT. 6:
We are trying something a little different on Monday. Monday will be planned over the weekend, with details posted at the Jericho Beach Hostel. So if you want to ride down the Chief in Sqaumish, or take another trail down Mt. Fromme then let us know over the weekend and it just might happen! Accommodation Info
What to Expect:
If you're up for the challenge, you'll have the option of riding extremely technical, sometimes slippery, and awesome trails on all three days! Be advised that Saturday
and Sunday's rides do not always have cell reception. Think
ahead and be prepared! After safety gear, the next most important thing
to have is food. After that is tools & patches.
Weather:
September in Vancouver is usually sunny with temperatures ranging between 15-20, that being said, this IS Vancouver, so be prepared for rain!! A good rain coat and pants is strongly advised.
RIDERS MUST BRING:
- Helmet. Goes without saying for the trails we will be riding.
- If you are under 18, you MUST have a
parent or guardian sign your waiver and have it notarized, as well as
having a responsible adult with you in the area.
- A passport is required if you are driving up from the USA, or if you are coming from another country.
Suggested items:
- Hand/wrist and
knee/shin protection is highly recommended.
- Unicycle(s). A good 24" or 26" muni will be
great for most trails. A trials uni would be useful for the beach trails in the evening as well.
- Food for the rides. A complete lunch
and snacks, plus water/sports drink for the rides.
- Money. Not sure what for yet, but
there's always something (besides the obvious stuff like food)...
- Rain gear! Always be prepared for it!
- Sunscreen.
- Tools,
patches, spares. You don't want to be stuck halfway down the mountain
with a flat! Some of the best stunts are on the second half, and
walking out just isn't fun.
- Cell phone. Optional but a good idea,
assuming there is coverage. Depending on your phone you may or may not have coverage on the trails.
- Fun stuff! Bring anything cool that
you want to share with people.
